1 - Gardaland
Photo by Stefan Scheer. Adjacent to Lake Garda, it covers an area of about 445,000 square metres and hosts almost 3 million visitors a year.
It entered the Forbes ranking in 2005 as the fifth best park in the world. But then again, we're talking about Mr Gardaland in all its disproportionate beauty, is there really anything more to add?

2 - Mirabilandia
Italy's largest park, it also has an aquatic area. It is located at km 162 of the SS Adriatica and also gives its name to the town itself.
The entire park is developed around three lakes, is surrounded by greenery and gives visitors the opportunity to feel like they are at the seaside: in'Mirabeach', the water area, there are real artificial beaches, swimming pools that simulate the waves of the sea, beach umbrellas and more.
The thematic area, on the other hand, is divided into 7 zones. To enter the aquatic area, a small supplement must be paid.

3 - Aqualandia / Caribe Bay
Voted Italy's best water park several times, divided into 8 themed areas including a mini-golf and discobar. Here you will find one of the highest slides in the world (42 metres) and the highest tower in Europe from which to try your hand at bungee jumping (60 metres).
There is parking for a fee, a beach service with umbrellas and sunbeds, a snack bar, and slides of all types and heights, all in Caribbean style. In addition, the park features a semi-covered area where entertainment shows are staged daily.

4 - Leolandia
Leolandia is the first theme park in Italy dedicated to families with children. Inaugurated in 1971 as Minitalia, over the years it has been transformed into Leolandia. Inside there are over 40 attractions, original shows, travelling attractions and the best-loved cartoon characters such as Peppa Pig, Masha&Orso, Il Trenino Thomas and Geronimo Stilton.
Also awaiting young and old alike are the educational farm, aquarium and reptile house, an educational vegetable garden, and the historic Minitalia with its 160 reproductions of miniature monuments. There are several refreshment points and kiosks in the park to stop for lunch or a simple break during the fun.

5 - Etnaland
Covering an area of about 280,000 square metres, it is the largest park in southern Italy.
In addition to finding the play area with rides(Themepark) or slides(Aquapark), there is also the possibility of taking a ride in the botanical garden or having a look at the Prehistoric Park. Whatever you want, you will find it here.

6 - Caneva World Resort
Photos of Canevaworld. Totally set on a tropical island, this water park has several slides for adults and children, refreshment and relaxation areas, ample parking and, a few kilometres away, its previously mentioned twin, Movieland, as well as the renowned Medieval Times restaurant.

7 - Aquafan
A true institution among water parks, many of us have been there at least once in our lives. Besides boasting the highest water slides, Aquafan is also famous for the world's biggest foam party held in August. The event brings thousands of visitors as well as internationally renowned DJs. Swimming pools of all kinds, bizarre slides, all just a stone's throw from the Riccione motorway exit. Fun areas, relaxation areas with wellness trails, music, night events. What more could you want?

8 - Aquarium of Genoa
Italy's largest aquarium and Europe's second largest, designed by Renzo Piano, is located in Genoa's Old Port. It houses some 74 tanks containing fish, mammals, reptiles and anything else from all over the world.
The inside tour lasts about 2½ hours and boasts about 25 million visitors a year. Possibility for youngsters to spend a night (once a month) observing sharks and their behaviour.

9 - Le Cornelle
A wildlife park whose aim is to safeguard wild species. Animals from all over the world can be found, the rare white tiger is the symbol of the park and the white lion has recently been introduced.
There is a reptile house and also the largest aviary in Italy where birds live in a semi-freedom state. Possibility of guided tours, refreshment area, ample parking. If you like zoos, you absolutely cannot miss this one.

10 - Aquasplash
One of the best water parks in Italy, very large, with lots of slides for adults and children. Relaxation areas, solarium, children's play area, swimming pools, picnic and self-service areas, shops.
The price is a bit high, but you know, you pay for quality. Very clean, safe and well maintained. Plenty of shaded areas to shelter from the hottest hours of the day.

11 - Safari Park
Composed of two distinct areas: the rides area with caged animals and the safari area, where the animals are free and it is only possible to approach them by vehicle.
A mix of fun and culture for families and children of all ages. Easily accessible, there is a campsite nearby for those who wish to spend the night there. And while you are there, Novara is a very pretty town indeed.

12 - Zoomarine
Amusement park where animals rule: shows, aquariums, zoological culture areas in which to understand something more about our friends. From the dinosaurs to today.
There are also 4D cinemas and rides for young and old, roller coasters and all kinds of swimming pools.

13 - Fiabilandia
One of the first amusement parks to open in Italy, it offers mostly attractions for children in 3 different themed areas: western, oriental and medieval. There is no shortage of shows, mascots, refreshment areas, indoor parking and also the possibility of admission free the next day.
This park has a history of more than 50 years and is built around Lake Bernardo, which is home to various species of migratory birds.

14 - Rainbow Magicland
It is located 20 minutes from the capital, along the Rome-Naples route and is a park entirely dedicated to the world of magic.
The attractions are all developed around a lake, which is the real peculiarity of this amusement park, in addition to the fact that it deals with various architectural themes ranging from Mayan ruins to dolmens, from royal castles to fantastic constructions.
Winner of numerous awards including the'Parksmania Awards 2016' for'Italy's first Virtual Coaster', it is a real feather in its cap. The entertainment shows are excellent, the attention to detail ranging from the costumes to the make-up of the 'actors' is there for all to see. Drop in!

15 - Oltremare
The park is divided into areas, all with different themes and purposes, presence of nature trails. Discounts for groups and families, schools on reservation.
The entrance ticket is valid for two days of your choice, which is very interesting. The park also provides a very friendly and knowledgeable staff for guided tours and film education courses. Moreover, in the children's area, you will find everything your children may need to spend a pleasant day.

16 - Italy in Miniature
This park houses a large number of miniatures of our country: churches, monuments, statues and squares. It covers an area of 85,000 square metres and is part of the IAMP, the international association that unites all the best miniature parks in the world.
Just a short distance from Rimini, it can also be easily reached by public transport. It offers discounts for groups and families and cumulative tickets for other neighbouring parks. Truly worth a visit, it is one of the most famous and popular parks in Italy.

17 - Cinecittà World

18 - Movieland Park

19 - Ondaland
It is currently the largest water park in Italy with its 140,000 square metres, and was also awarded best amusement park of the year in 2011.
It is located a few kilometres from the Biandrate exit and also offers discounts for entire families. Entertainment for all, snack bars and the possibility of renting sunbeds and umbrellas.

This is the first zoo animal park to be opened in Italy and one of the largest in Europe.
